HERE ARE THE ANSWERS!

MIDKAR

MKCA1 Wild Horses ~ Garth Brooks
This song is about a cowboy's struggle between the love of the rodeo life
and the love of a woman. He repeatedly promises her that he will quit riding, but
repeatedly breaks these promises because "these animals" kept dragging him away.

MKCA3 Turkey in the Straw ~ Traditional Folk Song
This is an American folk song that first gained popularity in the early 19th century.
The first part of the song is a contrafactum of the ballad "My Grandmother Lived on
Yonder Little Green", published in 1857, which itself is a contrafactum of the Irish
ballad "The Old Rose Tree" which was published by at least 1795 in Great Britain.
It was a popular tune for fiddle players as early as 1820.

MKCA4 Running Bear ~ Johnny Preston
This song is a teenage tragedy song written by Jiles Perry Richardson (a.k.a. The Big
Bopper) and sung most famously by this week's artist in 1959. The 1959 recording featured
background vocals by The Big Bopper himself, and . . . George Jones! It was No. 1 for
three weeks in January 1960 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
It was bumped out of the No. 1 spot by Marty Robbins' "El Paso", another song in which
the protagonist dies.

MKCA5 Teddy Bear ~ Elvis:
This is a popular song first recorded by this week's HUGE Country & Rock-A-Billy/
Rock-n-Roll Star in 1957 for the soundtrack of his second motion picture, during which he
performs the song on screen. That's all the hint you get! HA!

MKCA6 Beer For My Horses ~ Toby Keith / Willie Nelson:
This smash hit is a song recorded by two popular recording super stars, as a duet! It was
written for one of these two artists for his seventh studio album. The song was released as
the album's fourth and final single on April 7, 2003. This week's song reached #22 on the
Billboard Hot 100, making it this artist's highest charting song of his career at the time.
The song also peaked at #1 for six weeks in the US Billboard Hot Country Songs (one of two
songs to stay that long at #1 for him). It became his 11th #1 hit and the other artist's 23rd!
