The Jaynetts
Written By Lona Stevens, Zelma Sanders, and Abner Spector (1963)
According to Wikipedia: Recording the song took place over a week, running up of costs of $60,000 - then an exorbitant amount of time and money for a single track. According to Johnnie Louise Richardson: "Anybody that came in the studio that week, [Spector] would put them on [the track]. Originally, I think he had about 20 voices on 'Sally.'"

The David Dante original briefly entered the US Music Vendor chart in April 1961. The song was popularised in the United States as a 1962 single by Pat Boone. The Boone version peaked at the #6 Billboard Hot 100 position in 1962 during a total chart run of 13 weeks, doing better in many national charts in Europe, where it sold a million copies. The female voice ("La-la-la...") on this song was of Robin Ward. It also incorporated Mel Blanc voicing Speedy Gonzales as he did in the Warner Brothers cartoons.

Wikipedia: I was in a folk club in LA which had two levels. I could see these kids lining up sugar cubes and they had an eye-dropper and were putting something on them. I wasn’t a doper so I didn’t know what it was but I asked them. It was LSD and one of the kids said, 'You know, it’s kinda Sugar Town.'

Carpenters, The (1971) (& Many Others)
Written by Bonnie Bramlett and Leon Russell w/ Delaney Bramlett
The Carpenters' rendition was included on the May 1971 album Carpenters, and then released as a single in September 1971. It rose to number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart (held out of the top spot by Rod Stewart's "Maggie May") and spent two weeks at number one on the Easy Listening chart that autumn and earned gold record status. It also reached number 18 on the UK pop singles chart and did well in Australia and New Zealand as well.

The Ventures (1966)
Composed By Nokie Edwards
Don explains what goes into a remix:

I was going for a Leslie speaker sound and I came about as close as possible with the existing patches in ToH.
I achieved the sound in the XGM file using several effects an a couple of tricks of the trade. Firstly, I added a Modulation value of 64 to the guitars, then I set the Reverb level to 127 (Max). Next I added a Release time of 116 to increase the sustain and overall presence. Finally, I duplicated the tracks, panned one to the right and the other to the left and hacked the start time of the first note on the duped track to start 3 Milliseconds after the original to create a stereo delay. I almost forgot, I did a a Vibrato Delay of 2 to some of the guitar tracks, but not all.
I chose a combination of the Gibson ES-335 and the 2 different Les Paul guitars for this. I didn't do any transposing at all.
Compare the original, which will simply use the default Fender Strat with low effects and no tricks.
I also liked the Rock drums better with this tune.

Neil Diamond (1969)
W&M by Neil Diamond
Wikipedia: "Sweet Caroline" is a soft rock song written and performed by American artist Neil Diamond and officially released on September 16th, 1969, as a single. It was recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. There are three distinct mixes of this song. The original mono 45 mix had a loud orchestra and glockenspiel compared to the stereo version on the Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show LP. The third version was a remix found only on the initial CD release of Diamond's His 12 Greatest Hits. This version has the orchestra mixed down very noticeably and has the background vocals mixed up. It has a longer fade as well. A live version of the song is on his "Hot August Night" LP. The song reached #4 on the Billboard chart and eventually went platinum for sales of one million singles.
The song has sold 1,745,000 digital downloads as of April 2013.On December 21, 2011, in an interview on the CBS Early Show, Diamond said that a magazine cover photo of Caroline Kennedy as a young child on a horse with her parents in the background created an image in his mind, and the rest of the song came together about five years after seeing the picture. The song proved to be enduringly popular, and as of November 2014 has sold over 2 million digital downloads in the United States.

In the lyrics, Conley and Redding praise musicians Lou Rawls, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, and James Brown. They neglect Sam Cooke, whose business partner J.W. Alexander sued for copying the melody from Cooke's "Yeah Man." As part of the settlement, Cooke's name was added to the composer credits.
