"Speedy Gonzales" is a 1961 David Dante alias David Hess song (RCA 8056) about Speedy Gonzales, "the fastest mouse in all Mexico". It was written by Buddy Kaye, Ethel Lee and David Hess. The David Dante original briefly entered the US Music Vendor chart in April 1961. The song was popularised in the United States as a 1962 single by Pat Boone. The Boone version peaked at the #6 Billboard Hot 100 position in 1962 during a total chart run of 13 weeks, doing better in many national charts in Europe, where it sold a million copies. The female voice ("La-la-la...") on this song was of Robin Ward. It also incorporated Mel Blanc voicing Speedy Gonzales as he did in the Warner Brothers cartoons.

Neil Diamond (1969)
W&M by Neil Diamond
"Sweet Caroline" is a soft rock song written and performed by American artist Neil Diamond and officially released on September 16th, 1969, as a single. It was recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. There are three distinct mixes of this song. The original mono 45 mix had a loud orchestra and glockenspiel compared to the stereo version on the Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show LP. The third version was a remix found only on the initial CD release of Diamond's His 12 Greatest Hits. This version has the orchestra mixed down very noticeably and has the background vocals mixed up. It has a longer fade as well. A live version of the song is on his "Hot August Night" LP. The song reached #4 on the Billboard chart and eventually went platinum for sales of one million singles.
The song has sold 1,745,000 digital downloads as of April 2013.On December 21, 2011, in an interview on the CBS Early Show, Diamond said that a magazine cover photo of Caroline Kennedy as a young child on a horse with her parents[6] in the background created an image in his mind, and the rest of the song came together about five years after seeing the picture. The song proved to be enduringly popular, and as of November 2014 has sold over 2 million digital downloads in the United States.
