The Penguins
W&M by Gaynel Hodge, Jesse Lorenzo Belvin, and Curtis Williams
From wikipedia: "Earth Angel" was recorded as a literal garage demo. "Everytime the dog barked next door, I'd have to go out and shut him up, and then we'd do another take," remembered Williams. The first five seconds of the intro are cut off of the recording by accident.

Pink Floyd
W&M by Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, & David Gilmour
"Echoes" is a song by Pink Floyd including lengthy instrumental passages, sound effects, and musical improvisation. Written in 1970 by all four members of the group (credited as Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, David Gilmour on the original release), "Echoes" provides the extended finale to Pink Floyd's album Meddle. The track has a running time of 23:31 and takes up the entire second side of the vinyl recording. It also appears in shortened form as the fifth track on the compilation album which took its name, Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd. "Echoes" is the third-longest song in Pink Floyd's catalogue, after "Atom Heart Mother" (23:44) and the combined segments of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (26:01). Unlike those pieces, it is not explicitly divided into separate parts; however, the composition was originally assembled from separate fragments, and was later split in two parts to serve as both the opening and closing numbers in the band's film Live at Pompeii. The first part was used to open the band's 1987-90 A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. Each verse of the song follows a pattern of three strophes. The composition uses many progressive and unconventional musical effects. The ping sound heard at the beginning of the song was created as the result of an experiment at the very beginning of the Meddle sessions. It was produced through amplifying a grand piano and sending the signal through a Leslie rotating speaker.

The Teen Queens (1956)
Words and Music by: Aaron Collins, Maxwell Davis and Saul Sam Ling
The Teen Queens recorded the song in 1956, and took it to number three on the R&B Best Seller chart and number fourteen on the Billboard Charts. Other versions of Eddie My Love were also recorded in 1956, by The Chordettes and The Fontane Sisters, these also charted, and by Jo Ann Campbell in 1961.

The Turtles (1968)
W&M by Howard Kaylan, Mark Volman, Al Nichol, Jim Pons, John Barbata
Howard Kaylan said: Elenore was a parody of "Happy Together." It was never intended to be a straight-forward song. It was meant as an anti-love letter to White Whale [Records], who were constantly on our backs to bring them another "Happy Together." So I gave them a very skewed version. Not only with the chords changed, but with all these bizarre words. It was my feeling that they would listen to how strange and stupid the song was and leave us alone. But they didn't get the joke. They thought it sounded good. Truthfully, though, the production on "Elenore" WAS so damn good. Lyrically or not, the sound of the thing was so positive that it worked. It certainly surprised me.

Chuck Mangione (1978)
Written by Chuck Mangione
"Feels So Good" is the title of a 1978 instrumental by the American flugelhorn player Chuck Mangione. It was both written and produced by Mangione and is the title track from his 1977 album. The album version of "Feels So Good" runs almost ten minutes, but an edit trimming the piece to 3 minutes 28 seconds was released as a single in early 1978. The single reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in June of that year[1] after spending a week atop the Billboard easy listening chart in May.[2] The recording was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Record of the Year at the ceremony held in 1979, losing out to Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are". Mangione re-recorded the tune (as a slow ballad, and with lyrics sung by Don Potter) for his 1982 album 70 Miles Young. Mangione was quoted describing the editing of the original version of the track as "major surgery."

The Moody Blues (1972-3)
W&M by Ray Thomas
"For My Lady" is a song by the English progressive rock band The Moody Blues. It was written by the band's flautist Ray Thomas, and was first released on the 1972 album Seventh Sojourn. It was later released on the B-side of the single "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)" in 1973. "For My Lady" is one of Ray Thomas's better known songs for the Moody Blues, along with "Legend of a Mind", and "Veteran Cosmic Rocker." It prominently features Ray Thomas on the flute and lead vocals. Due to the complex nature of the song's recording, The Moody Blues can only perform the song live when they are backed by a live orchestra, since Ray Thomas cannot sing and play the flute at the same time.

Beach Boys (1964)
W&M by Brian Wilson and Mike Love
Mark Cox relates this rumor: This song was writen in a few minutes and was all about Dennis, or rather a girl he was dating at the time. She was waiting for him in her T-bird outside the recording studio one afternoon and the rest of the guys watched them drive off together and apparently Mike Love, being completely jealous of Dennis said to the others in a spiteful way "she'll have fun until her daddy takes that t-bird away" and Brian [wrote] a song and the 4 beach boys who were left went straight back into the studio and punched this tune out within half an hour.
