Amy Winehouse (2006)
W&M by Amy Winehouse Mark Ronson
Josh writes: "This is in my opinion one of the best songs Amy Winehouse has ever written. Although we had to put a lot of work into producing it, every note was a pleasure to play.. Max Manners did the complete arrangement for this and when recording we used Mum and Dads (Jillianne and Baz) personal studio. This studio has all the bells and whistles and is set up for Midi. We used 3 computers when recording the Midi. Helen Walters the Bass player from my Mother-in-laws band did all the bass work. Max Manners did all the keyboards. I did what was left over. I hope you enjoy the music."

Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps (1956)
W&M by Gene Vincent and Tex Davis
From Wikipedia: The writing of the song is credited to Gene Vincent and his manager, Bill "Sheriff Tex" Davis. Evidently the song originated in 1955, when Vincent was recuperating from a motorcycle accident at the US Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. There, he met Donald Graves, who supposedly wrote the words to the song while Vincent wrote the tune. The song came to the attention of Davis, who allegedly bought out Graves' rights to the song for some $50 (sources vary as to the exact amount), and had himself credited as the lyric writer.

Joshua Kadison
Prolific pianist Joshua Kadison began playing and writing songs when he was 12; the influences on his emotional music include Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart and Gershwin. Kadison left his Hollywood Hills home after his mother died, eventually ending up in Nashville, later to Southern California releasing the huge pop and AC smash singles “Jesse”, “Beautiful In Your Eyes”, “Picture Postcards From L.A.”, after being signed by SBK and issuing Painted Desert Serenade. “Delilah Blue” and “Vanishing America” followed with fine, well-crafted theme-related material.

Fleetwood Mac (1968)
W&M by Peter A. Green
Although not as popular as Santana's arrangement two years later, "Black Magic Woman" nevertheless became a fairly popular blues-rock hit peaking at No. 37 in the UK Singles Chart. It was featured in Fleetwood Mac live set-lists even after Green had left the band, when it was often sung by Danny Kirwan, and during concerts in the early 1970s it would form the basis for long mid-concert jams. The song would often be preceded by a band member reminding the audience that it was a Fleetwood Mac song before it became such a big hit for Santana.
